We are expanding childcare access in Texas and beyond.

Our mission is to provide tuition-free, high-quality, Christ-centered childcare for families in need by equipping parents and engaging them in the classroom to lower costs and improve classroom ratios.
Our vision is to see this model expand across Texas and beyond so more parents have access to excellent childcare, fewer families remain stuck on waitlists, and communities can invest in sustainable solutions instead of endlessly growing subsidy programs.
Our Team

Ms. Jenny Johnson
Executive Director
Jenny first became passionate about this issue of the inaccessibility of early childhood care after seeing its tragic effects during her time as an attorney representing children in CPS court.
Witnessing these cases prompted her to initiate meetings with over 70 child care and welfare services leaders in and around Houston so she could better understand the problem and find a solution.
Jenny is married and a mother of 3 children. Within her church she regularly serves in children’s ministry as a 2nd grade Sunday School teacher. She loves Houston, a place she’s lived in 10 years, and is passionate about sharing the Gospel with those who do not know Christ.

Ms. Van Johnson
Program Director and Lead Educator
Ms. Vantonia Johnson is an Early Childhood Educator with a Masters in Education. Ms. Van has over 11 years of experience in Early Childhood Education including work as a beloved nanny and an educator for Primrose Academy. She is actively involved in her church, and her ability to openly apply her Christian faith is her favorite part of working at Project One Day.

Our Values
1. We value the gospel.
We believe God demonstrated His love for us through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. We seek to honor Christ’s sacrifice by caring for God’s people and walking in His ways.
2. We value children and families.
We believe God designed families and blesses them with children. We value education for not only children but their parents, so that we might partner together to provide excellent care.
3. We value work.
We believe God created work as a means to cultivate creation, serve others, and contribute to the common good. We believe work does not earn us salvation, or even favor with God, but is a daily opportunity to honor our God in our homes, communities, and churches.
